Drawing, Elements of Art and Introduction to Painting

I have been a practicing artist for 20 years. I did not begin drawing until I was in college. I took a drawing class to help with my composition for my black and white photography that I had been interested in since high school. When I discovered that I could draw, I left photography behind and began to explore the world of fine art through painting and drawing. My career began with painting murals and everything else in the model homes that the Interior Design firm that I worked for in Denver, Co. My first degree is in Interior Design, my second is in Visual Arts. I moved back to the Kansas City area in 1997. I have had 3 solo art shows. I have illustrated several books and am also teaching art. I am passionate about art and art history. I am married (25 years this year), and I have 4 children who attend Andover eCademy ranging from 2nd-11th grade. You can find me on facebook: Cynthia Bird_Artist to see some of my current projects.

I look forward to a fantastic semester.
